CANO Manitoba

Oncology Nursing Day (OND) 2016 is set to be a wonderful opportunity for those in the profession to benefit from a professional development opportunity as well as connect with their colleagues.  The Manitoba CANO chapter is planning a cake and coffee reception at cancer centers with a few speeches from CCMB Nursing, the CEO of Cancer Care, and a message from me on behalf of CANO. We will also be distributing the COSTaRS Practice guide to every Oncology Nurse in the province.

On the evening of April 5th we have an education session on Multiple Myeloma provided by one of our NP’s. This education session is being sponsored by AMGEN so all CANO members will get to see a fantastic presentation as well as enjoy a night out with good food and wine at a local restaurant.

We’re so all looking forward to OND.  It’s a time for our profession to shine and to remember those we serve.  If you are interested in taking part, please reach out:

ONIGA – South

ONIGA – South is hosting a dinner-presentation at a local venue on Friday, April 8th.

The evening is going to be facilitated by a Senior Consultant with Patient & Family Engagement & Experience as well as a Patient and Family Advisory Council Member.

The objectives of the educational experience and evening are:

  • To remember the patient experience
  • To explore values work as a key coaching skill
  • To explore stories and how they might be a tool to support individual practice and teams in exploring what Patient and Family Centred Care means

ONIGA -South is also excited to partner again this year with the Canadian Cancer Society to support Daffodil sales at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in April.
